WikiTouch is an easy to use note-taking application that helps to manage your personal and business Notes from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

WikiTouch can synchronize notes over the Internet between iPhone and computer, so that you can manage your notes wherever you want. As notes are stored on the iPhone, WikiTouch works online or offline, and Internet connection is only required during synchronization. You can also define links between notes, which is a great feature if you want to organize your notes like on any web site. You can also attached photos, audio messages, videos and any document files to your notes, and share your personal content with friends or co-workers.

WikiTouch is all about Note-taking, where you can add text, photos, links to other Notes, links to web sites, links to documents, videos and audio files, and much more...
Because WikiTouch works like a wiki, you can organize your personal information the way you want, and build your personal and business content like a personal web site that is private. Like in any web site, WikiTouch has an HomePage, which is your personal main page.

So here are the 1-2-3 easy steps to start:

1 - Select homepage

We've created a default homepage for you, just to help you to start with WikiTouch.

Select HomePage from the "List Notes" view, the one in green

HomePage content will appear with some default content we've created for you.

2 - Edit and Modify homepage

Please, feel free to Edit this HomePage, erase whatever default content you want and start to add your own content.

Select the Edit button from the Tabbar menu at the bottom of your screen or in the top right navigation bar

You are now in Edit mode. Click into the screen and type whatever you want on the virtual keyboard.

Once you are done, Click on the Save button at the top right corner of your screen. HomePage is now yours.

3 - Create New Note

Select the + button at the top right of the screen. Give your new note a Title (e.g. My New Note).

Alternatively, putting a WikiWord into another Note and then selecting it will automatically create a new note. If you just click on an existing Note link, you'll automatically be redirected to this Note in a View mode.

Thanks to WikiTouch flexibility, you can also create a Note without WikiWord syntaxe, by just writting your Note title inside brackets, such as [ [My Other Note] ]

There are several ways to create new Note using WikiTouch

Selecting + Button

Select the + button at the top right of the screen. Give your new note a Title (e.g. My New Note).

Using WikiWord syntax

• From any Note in Edit mode, you can just write a WikiWord into the Note, save and view. A WikiWord is two or more words written as one word with each word starting with a capital letter. Viewing this Note you can see that your WikiWord appears now as a Link. Select this WikiWord and WikiTouch will automatically create a new note with the WikiWord as title.
• Alternatively, you can use any non WikiWord as new note title as long as you start and end your title using brackets, such as [My Other Note]. This will have exactly the same effect that for WikiWord, which provide a lot of flexibility to create links.

Viewing a Note is as easy as just selecting this note from the List Notes view or from any Note's link that you embedded in another Note.

Links enable you to go to another Note, visit a web site, make a phone call, send an email, view a friend's location map, view a local or remote file, view a local or remote photo or video.

It's so easy to edit and modify your Notes. Select the Edit button and start editing your text.
If you know our Wiki Syntax, this is the right place to use it. If you don't feel comfortable with our Wiki Syntax, we've added nice Edit Helpers for you.

Position your edit cursor where you want in your Note to insert your link.

Select the "Link to Note" helper icon if you want to easily insert Links to one of your Notes or one of your Friend's Notes.

Select the "Photos" helper icon if you want to attach a photo from your iPhone photo library or from your camera to your Note.

Using WikiTouch edit helper icons, it's easy to record an audio message and attach the audio file to your Note ; or attach any document that is stored on your iPhone local disk in order to reference it from your Note and maybe share it with your trusted contacts.

Deleting Notes is as easy as selecting the trash icon from the bottom toolbar while in a view note mode. Once you confirm note deletion, we will remove this note from the Note database.

Edit the default SandBox note to understand how to add links within your note.

Using WikiTouch, it's very easy to synchronize your personal content between your iPhone and your computers.

Here is how it works:
1. You don't need to install any additional software on your computer, as WikiTouch support standard web browsers running on Mac, Windows and Linux.

2. You can choose to create, edit or delete a note from your iPhone, and after synchronization your updates will appear on your computer's web browser.

3.If you prefer, you can also create, edit or delete a note from your web browser by just visiting http://wikitouch.com/ and after synchronization your updates will appear on your iPhone. You can have a full access to your wiki from your web browser, including attaching photos, videos and document files to your notes.

4. Synchronization is done over the Internet and works using any wifi or 3G network. Unlike other products, WikiTouch is not restricted to sync over your local area network, you can sync notes between your iPhone and your work computer remotely.

5. Synchronization is done using our WikiTouch Tracker Server which is running in the Internet Cloud. Our server acts as an Internet cache in order to store and relay your personal data between your iPhone and your computer.

6. You can synchronize your personal wiki between multiple computers, with no limitation, as data transit via our Tracker Server.

Step by Step Synchronization process

1. Synchronization requires Internet connection.

2. From your iPhone, open WikiTouch app and select the Sync icon from the tabbar

3. Open your web browser from your computer and go to http://wikitouch.com/

4. login using your WikiTouch email userID and password, the ones you defined during initial user registration phase. You can change your password using your native iPhone WikiTouch application, from the Account > Settings view

5. your browser will automatically start synchronization with our WikiTouch Tracker Server, so that your iPhone doesn't need to be turned on.

6. what you see on your iPhone is now available from your web browser.

7. Using your web browser, feel free to create, view, edit, upload, download personal content as you want. If you feel more convenient to type long notes using your computer keyboard, it's easy to synchronize back to iPhone

Organise your personal content the way you want.

Link notes together using WikiWord. A WikiWord is two or more words written as one word with each word starting with a capital letter.

You can also Link notes together embedding your Note title into brackets characters, such as [My New Note]. This will have exactly the same effect that for WikiWord, which provide a lot of flexibility to create links

When you see a WikiWord or a Link to a Note, select it to go to this Note. If this Note does not yet exist WikiTouch will ask you to create a New Note with this name.

Notes contain text initially, but you can enrich them by adding a lot of personal multimedia content, such as images, photos, videos, audio, presentation or document.

This makes WikiTouch unique, and you can use it as your personal digital life hub.

Here are the different things to can add to your notes:

• take a picture from your iPhone and insert it directly to your note
• select a picture from your iPhone library and insert it directly to your note
• record an audio message from your iPhone microphone and insert it into your note
• add a link to a public web site from your note
• add a link to a youtube video from your note
• add a link to an email address in your note
• add a link to a contact address in your note, so that a map will appear when you select it
• add a link to a phone number in your note, so that you can click to call this contact from your note
• add a link to a remote document in your note and save this document into your iPhone disk, so that you'll be able to review this document while offline, with no network connection.
• ...

While in a View Mode, select the Edit button to Edit your note, then position your cursor where you want to insert your multimedia reference, then select one of the helper icons to add a web link or attach a file.

From the main Notes list view, enter your text in the Search box and validate. WikiTouch will find any notes with a matching Title or Content.

Matching Notes are then listed, just select the one you want to view or/and edit.

As your Notes are saved on your local iPhone disk, you can read, create, edit, manage your personal content from anywhere at any time, whether you have Internet network connectivity (online) such as Wifi or 3G, or no network connectivity at all (offline) like when you are in a plane.

Obviously, you won't be able to synchronize your content while offline, but you can add photos or videos to your Notes from your iPhone camera, and synchronize them as soon as you get network connectivity on again.

This feature enables you to work on your personal content in any condition.

If you reference document or files that you saved locally you can even have access to those files while offline.

There are different ways to share notes with your trusted contacts.

Email a Note

To e-mail a note select the email button from the toolbar that appears at the bottom of your screen while you are viewing this Note. You will be sent to the iPhone or iPod Touch mail client with the Note title and Note content automatically filled in. Just select to whom you want to send this email as you would do for any email.

Publish Note

If you want to communicate with your trusted contact in real-time, you can allow them to see what you see. To enable Publishing, make sure you follow these steps:

• Highlight your TV icon on the top left of your main List Notes
• Set your guests code from your Account > Settings Preferences page
• At this stage, each time you will select a link, whether this link is a note or a document, they will see the same content as you see on their screen.
• To stop Publishing, just select the TV icon again

Invite your friend

• Invite your friend to view your wiki. While in a view mode for a specific note, select the Share note button from the toolbar and send your friend the email invitation that is created for you
• Ask your trusted contact to select Friends > your name > Live Session

Inter-wikis link

You can add to your Notes links to some of your friend's wiki Notes.

You can also ask your Friend to reference from their Notes one or several of your Notes. This allows you to create with your friends, co-workers, partners, customers or family members a private social network from where you can collaborate easily.

Share in real-time personal content with trusted people.

Attend a Live Session

As a WikiTouch registered user, you can attend live session hosted by one of your friends. In a live session mode you'll see in real-time what your friend is seeing on his/her WikiTouch screen.

• Go to Friends View
• Select which Friend you want to attend Live session from. Make sure you defined in Friend > Edit mode his/her correct guest code.
• Select Live session to start and wait for your friend to publish his/her content in real-time.

Alternatively, we also provide the capability from non WikiTouch registered users to attend a live session directly from their web browser. In this case, you should receive an email invitation from your friend with a link embedded in the email's body.

Host Live Session

To Host a Live Session, you need first to make sure you enabled your WikiTouch Publishing mode, by following these steps:

• Highlight your TV icon on the top left of your main List Notes
• Set your guests code from your Account > Settings Preferences page
• Share this guest code with your trusted contacts in order to enable them to establish secured connection to your wiki
• At this stage, each time you will select a link, whether this link is a note or a document, they will see the same content as you see on their screen.
• To stop Publishing, just select the TV icon again

Invite friends

• Ask your trusted contact to select Friends > your name > Live Session from their WikiTouch application
• For friends who are not WikiTouch users, just send them an email invitation by visiting your Account View

As Notes are critical personal information for you, we've added a simple Backup procedure. We do recommend to follow these steps at least once a week, to make sure you'll save your complete personal wiki in a safe location.

Using this feature, you can create a new Note or just append text or file to an existing Note by just sending an email to your wikitouch email address.

Find your wikitouch email address

WikiTouch users automatically get an additional email address, which is specific to their wikitouch application. This email address is available from the User Account View:

• Select More, then Account
• Your wikitouch email address appears within the wikitouch email field. We recommend to save this email address in your address book, so that it will be easier for you to remember and use it.

Create a new note from email

From any computer or iPhone, use your favorite email client application and send an email with the following informations:

• To: your_wikitouch_email @ wikitouch.com
• Subject: add my_new_note_title
• Body: enter your text here

You can type "add" or "ADD" or "Add" to create a new Note.

If your note title already exist, wikitouch will automatically append your text to your Note.

You can also attach a file to your email, such as a photo, or any document. The attached file will be automatically sent to our wikitouch Tracker Server, so that you'll be able to sync and share it.

Modify existing note from email

From any computer or iPhone, use your favorite email client application and send an email with the following informations:

• To: your_wikitouch_email @ wikitouch.com
• Subject: append my_existing_note_title
• Body: enter your text here

You can type "append" or "APPEND" or "Append" to append text to an existing Note.
If your note title does not exist, wikitouch will automatically create the note and add your text.
You can also attach a file to your email, such as a photo, or any document. The attached file will be automatically sent to our wikitouch Tracker Server, so that you'll be able to sync and share it.

To e-mail a note select the email button from the toolbar that appears at the bottom of your screen while you are viewing this Note. You will be sent to the iPhone or iPod Touch mail client with the Note title and Note content automatically filled in. Just select to whom you want to send this email as you would do for any email.

You can change your Preferences and Settings whenever you want. Just select the More button from the tabbar in the main view, and then select Account > Settings.

• Username/Password - used to authenticate yourself during synchronization with our WikiTouch Tracker server in the cloud. Username is the email ID you defined at first application launch. You can't change this email ID. To change your password, just enter the new password in the dedicated field.
• Code - This is an important field to fill, as wikitouch as been designed for sharing your Notes with other people you trust. Please, set any value to this field and this value will be your guestcode, the code that your friends will need to have access to Notes you decide to share with them.

Note: WikiTouch does not support yet Internet Explorer due to some standard css restrictions. We are working on it and support for IE should be ready soon.

Connect to WikiTouch Web

WikiTouch enables you to manage your notes using your iPhone and your computer's web browser (home or office).

To make sure you get your Notes updated, you need first to use the Synchronize Notes feature from your iPhone. Once Notes are securely synchronized with our wikitouch Tracker Server, you can manage them using your standard Web browser.

Synchronization is done thru the Internet (with wifi or 3G connection), so there is no restriction for being part of the same Local Area Network to manage your Notes between iPhone and computers.

From your computer, follow these steps to manage your Notes:

• open your web browser and go to http://wikitouch.com
• login using your WikiTouch email userID and password, the ones you defined during initial user registration phase. You can change your password using your native iPhone WikiTouch application, from the Account > Settings view
